Abberation Builds refers to the ability to place new units in any free center that a player controls as long as that player still controls one or more home centers.. This differs with standard builds, in which a player can only build on his or her own home centers.
An Example:
If Abberation Builds are in use:
- England can build in Edinburgh, Berlin or Kiel
- France can build in Brest, Liverpool, Munich or Spain
- Germany cannot build (as they do not control any home centers)
Abberation Builds are typically used in:
- the Aberration variant (for which this method of builds is named)
- variants with larger maps
- cases where the GM announces at game-start that Abberation Builds will be utilized
